Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night.
So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom
Satisy us in the morning with your steadfast love that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, and for as many years as we have seen evil.
Let your work be shown to your servants, and your glorious power to their children.
Let the favour of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!"
Excerpts from Psalm 90
This week we have begun a new season in life, in Coppedge Academy, in our reality...
For years, you all have prayed as I have become a mama and learned to love my sweet tribe. You have carried us as we began to educate our people and disciple them. The learning curve has been steep and there has been an underlying peace that has affirmed the rightness of these "yeses" to Jesus. That same peace is carrying the day as we now are entering a new reality.
Our crew started at a wee classical Christian school in Macon this week! Jesus has opened the door and we have trepidly tip toed through. (Auto correct really wants that word to be "trendily" and I know very well that is not how we have entered in.) There was orientation/meet your teachers on Monday morning...guess who was the ONLY family that wore their school uniforms to that day?! Yep! There we were in all of our glory, sticking out like sore thumbs and my sweet tribe never even realised our fashion oversight! They knew they looked GOOD in their uniforms! I love who they are!!!
Anyway, we are keeping many of our routines from past years and we still begin our days with Bible reading, Scripture memory and prayer for a different country in the world. Today we read Psalm 90 and as I have every day this week, I wept as we read...this is more dangerous than it used to be, because now I am driving down the highway. I wept because of the deep truth we were hearing and the incredible security it is to live in. Third continent now to try to disciple these people within. This may be the hardest yet...and yet it's still true...HE IS OUR DWELLING PLACE.
Chloe piped up from the back, "What's a dwelling place, Mama?" It's where you live, Chloe girl. It's where you are safe, kept, held. Where you are home. So, it's saying, Jesus is our safe place. "Oh, that's true." And back to her drawing. Oh, Jesus let them know it's true...for ALL generations. Let them know that they know that it is true...
"Let the favour of the LORD our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!"
