Power of Prayer

                                                        " Thus far the Lord has helped us!" 

                                                                        1 Samuel 7:12  

    We woke up at 6:00 am on Sunday  to drive all the way to Kenya.  Google Maps said that the trip would take about 8 hours, we assumed that it would be closer to 10 hours because we were travelling as a family... We had been travelling for 11 hrs  two of which we had spent crossing the border ( we were still about 2 hrs from Tenwek Hospital which was our final destination, Dad had a pastors conference which was being hosted there) when the heating gauge for the engine started fluctuating between normal and over heating.  Dad then called an emergency prayer meeting, we all prayed and while we prayed it stayed on normal.  As son as we had stopped praying (  out loud ) the gauge started up again.  Pretty soon Dad had to pull over, he called the mechanic in Kampala and the guy said that we should carefully try to put more water in the radiator. O, have I mentioned that we are travelling with the bishop of Africa Gospel Church Uganda (   He was also going to the pastors conference.) So.. the bishops wife and son, Aubrey and myself were sitting in the middle row of  the car, we had to get out and stand in the side of the road in the middle of no ware.  Thankfully dad did not get burned ( because we were all praying nonstop ) as he poured more water in to the radiator.  After we had  all gotten back in the car and  dad started driving agin ( very slowly.) I did not stop praying until we reached the gate of Tenwek.   Thankfully when were stuck  some friends of ours the Roberts knew so when we finally got to Tenwek  ( at 8:30pm) they had prepared a meal for us.  We ate and went right to bed! Jesus protected us and showed us that prayer is a VERY  effective. 

  "Bwana Asifiwa "  ( Praise the Lord in Swahili. ) Thank you all for praying and caring our family as we keep on trusting Him to lead us on the right paths!!

   Living overseas is a gift. Yes, it is hard but in the long run it is such a privilege.  Some of the amazing privileges are things like being able to see giraffes in the wild, learning new languages, and seeing the Old Course in St. Andrews ( the home of golf.)  Also our family now has a network of friends from all over the word.  I'm not saying that being an missionary kid is always easy.  For example we often have to leave our friends, our family, and what we have called "Home" for the past week!   I do not know which friends you are saying "goodbye" to, but I know that we fallow a God who likes to make our cups run over.  We can trust that He has New friends for us along the way!  Keep trusting!!

Dwelling places

                         "...That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life..."

 These past couple of weeks our family has been searching for the right dwelling place that the Lord has for us.  We have found several places  that would be amazing for our family,homeschool,and pastor trainings.  So far though we have not had any conformation that any of our options are THE dwelling place,so we are continuing to trust that he has the perfect place for us!  I'm so thankful that we can trust him to lead us on the perfect path to our house.  In the past week we have had many exiting paths such as attending a woman's Bible study.  Mom told the story when Jesus calms the storm.  The women liked that story because so many of them are facing storms, the good news is that Jesus can come and calm there storms!  Thank you Jesus!!!  Another path has been letting our family lead WGM prayer meeting this past week.I told a Bible story about " In the Beginning "( gen 1:1-5), and we were able to pray about some of our new beginnings.  Kajambo!(hi in Luganda) Uganda has 44 tribal languages.  In the city most people speak  Luganda, so this past month Lucy,Aubrey,and I have been working on our Luganda.  Learning a language is a very exiting path! I'm exited to see what  else we learn.
Keep on dwelling in the Lord and trusting Him and He will make your paths strait!

PATHS

                        "Think about Him in all your ways,and He will guide you on the right paths."
                                                                    Proverbs 3:6


 This is the verse I read this morning in my devotions. Jesus has lead our family on many paths, but on all of them He has guided us through the rocky parts!! Praise Him!! Some of the paths in the past couple of weeks have been, letting me and mom help some of our friends get to the boarding school were there daughter (who is Lucy's age) lives and goes to school!Wow!!!They were so thankful to be able to go and visit with their  daughter.Another path has been leading us to see soo many of our friends from Arua. We have gotten to see the Dawamas, Jennifer, the Ottafires and the Wrights. We are all so thankful  to be closer again.Also one of the paths is that I turned 12 on Nov 3!This path that included mom and dad challenging me to keep a blog for this 12th year. Continue to think about Him and He will guide your paths.
