A Week in the Life of Elsie Jayne

Elsie Jayne got to attend her first Africa Gospel Church/WGM pastoral training on the 8th of March in Nebbi! (pictured left with Pastor Cosmos' wife, Joyce) She was a trooper! She decided she might miss out on something if she took her nap in her car seat on the way there...and on the way home. It was a long day for her parents!

While in Nebbi though, she was sweet and interested in all the new sights and smells of the village. She was disappointed she couldn't yet enjoy the tastes!...soon. She did make a lot of new friends though! She is pictured here helping her mom and dad teach...while the neighborhood kids check her out.

We came "home" to the Rinehimer's home! (she's posing with Erica here) Graciously they hosted the three of us for 12 nights! We are so thankful to Jesus for their friendship and hospitality!!! We moved back home last week and are settling back in again now.

We were able to host some new friends for tea this week. Monica is a new friend of Joanna's. She has a 7 month old daughter named Esther. She and Elsie Jayne are becoming fast friends!

Please continue to pray for conversations and interactions with Monica, Esther and her roommate Maria. What a blessing it is to interact with those seeking to know Jesus more, not just from Arua, Uganda, but from around the world. These friends are from Italy!

We got to celebrate Jesus on Palm Sunday with our friends here in Arua at St. Phillips Anglican Church. Elsie Jayne thought the palm branches should be waved every week!

On the walk home she drew more attention than normal. Not only does she stand out for the color of her skin, but her sunglasses, that her pediatrician recommended before leaving the states, cause her to create quite a scene!

Finally, Elsie Jayne was a big help with her mom's discipleship group this week! She loves to greet everyone! She is pictured here with Jennifer!

Thanks for praying for Elsie and her mom and dad throughout the coming week! Have a blessed Easter!

Elsie Jayne is so cute! If y'all come to Jackson sometime, we'll have to get her and Hallie together. She is 11 months now. All 3 of you are in our prayers.
