Elsie Jayne's Immunizations

Yesterday Elsie Jayne went for her 4 month vaccinations! It was an adventure for her and her mom! I had taken a friend to the government hospital before to have her baby immunized, but taking my own was a whole new adventure. When you arrive in the big open room with lots of other moms, they have you take your babies clothes off and put them in a harness to weigh them on the meat scale! 6.3 kilos!!! Once I got home I did the math to realize she is 13.86 pounds! She is more than double her birth weight now!

It took quite a few nurses to short out the American system of vaccinations from Elsie Jayne's little book from her nice and clean pediatrician's office in Lexington, KY. Finally they agreed to give her the shots I knew she needed at this point. She was sore in the afternoon, but she is doing great this morning! Pray we are able to avoid the hospital for another two months, until her 6 month shots!

Billy is in Nebbi today and tomorrow training pastors there. I will try and take Elsie Jayne down for the day tomorrow to meet the pastors there...they are anxious to get to know this little girl they have prayed for. We would love to move back into our home early next week! We'll keep you posted!

She is so cute! I think the meat scale is actually one of the more efficient ways to weigh a baby. Isaiah still doesn't sit still for anything. We'll pray you can avoid the hospital.
