Our Cups Run Over

"My cup runs over..." Psalm 23
This autumn we have seen the goodness of God fill and overflow our cups... yet again.

Through a series of closed and then divinely opened doors, we have seen God provide a place for Billy (or "William" as he is properly called in Scotland) to begin PhD studies at the University of Edinburgh. He will be focusing his research on oral communication, specifically in Uganda, as we seek to better understand how to communicate with people in the clearest ways possible for the sake of the Kingdom of God. Hallelujah! Praise God Forever!

Edinburgh is the University; New College is the name of the Divinity School at Edinburgh, and then within New College, Billy will be studying in the Centre for the Study of World Christianity. Yes, it is a little confusing:)

This last year, Jesus has opened the door for us to be involved in the editing of the Orality Journal, a publication that the International Orality Network (ION) produces twice a year. The Orality Journal is a practitioner-oriented tool that seeks to enable people either interested in or already using oral methods to learn how to communicate more clearly. This autumn's edition focuses on participatory learning and orality - the combination which we found fruitful in Uganda. We praise Jesus for the opportunity to be a part of this new ministry.

Many of you have been praying for Lucy Mae's ears. Thank you. Jesus provided helpful medical personal who recommended Lucy to have tubes (grommets) put in her ears and her adenoids removed. Lucy did excellent through the procedure and we rejoice because we have all noticed, especially her, the improvement in her hearing. Hallelujah! Praise God Forever!

Here is beautiful Lucy with her close companion, Mundu.

This month we celebrated the twins' birthday! They turned four and much celebrating was enjoyed. Billy's parents came over to join in the festivities and we had a brilliant time showing them Scotland.

Here are Grammy and Granddaddy with the girlies at St. Andrews castle. The St. Andrews Cathedral ruins lie in the background.
Elsie Jayne loved "Grammy" hugs.
The birthday girls (Sophia/Chloe) show off new birthday bracelets.

As we look towards November, we are all excited about what more goodness God has for our family. Particularly, the girls are very eager to welcome their soon to arrive baby brother. Hallelujah! Praise God Forever!
