Thank you for PRAYING!

Jesus is so good to us! Thank you for praying for us yesterday!!! He completely took amazing care of us. After a good visit with Matt and Bonnie Burton, visitors from TN, (Pictures: they visited one of our congregations in Nebbi on Sunday and helped fix our sink too! Billy's a plumber now, thanks to Matt! :)) Billy dropped them at the airfield and headed home after the plane took off...only to make it part way when the steering column began smoking...he of course pulled over and turned the car off...then it just poured smoke...he finally got the casing open and the flames burned high...he tried the fire extinguisher we carry with us in the car...it didn't work! HA! Some guys going by stopped and threw sand on the fire to put it out. A blessing! The little ladies Billy was carrying in the car for a ride back to town discretely came up to him and said, "thank you sir, we're going now!"

He checked under the hood...there was no fire there...he disconnected the battery...while doing that someone walked off with the fire extinguisher and a mud flap! The crowd was LARGE by then watching this car pour smoke and this guy fight a fire! Anyway, he was fine...he called me mid-way through this to ask me to pray. After the excitement, he got a hold of another friend with a car that could tow the Land Rover. It is here now at our house...and the electrical mechanic we were referred to to look at it is coming...an hour and a half ago...haven't seen him quite yet, but I'm sure he's on his way! :)

So, why so thankful...one, Billy lived, two, he wasn't even hurt at all! Thirdly, he was supposed to have Elsie Jayne with him and I was supposed to be exercising with my friend, but my stomach has been awful all week, so I didn't have the energy and canceled with my friend that morning and stayed home with the baby. Jesus is so kind to bless us with tummy aches when he knows they are best for us! and for our children!!! Also, we praise Him Elsie Jayne and I weren't in the car alone when this happened. And we praise Him that Billy was here in Arua, not in Sudan when this happened. He goes to Yei, Sudan to teach on Friday (was supposed to at least).

So, we'll keep you posted, but for now we are simply grateful to Jesus for life and health and His kindnesses!!!
